What is a HIP?

A Home Information Pack (HIP) is a set of information which will include:

• The terms of sale
• Evidence of title
• Standard searches (including local authority enquiries and water and drainage search)
• Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)
• If appropriate it will also include leasehold information including a copy of the lease.

From 14 December 2007 all homeowners now have to order a HIP before they put their property on the market.
